UN says Gaza ‘on knife edge’ – BBC News

Palestinian officials in the Gaza Strip say 78 people have been killed in Israeli attacks from the air and the sea this week.
Israel’s anti-missile system has shot down several Palestinian rockets aimed at the city of Tel Aviv. The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon warned the situation was “on a knife-edge”.
Mr Ban has demanded that Hamas stop firing rockets at Israel and urged the Israeli government to exercise restraint and respect international obligations to protect civilians.
Kevin Connolly reports from Jerusalem.
