Ukrainian forces have engaged pro-Russia militiamen who entered Donetsk airport and halted all flights.
Military aircraft have been seen overhead and gunfire has been heard in the area.
The BBC’s Mark Lowen reports that he saw two military jets and three attack helicopters approach the complex.
