Pulitzer Prize-winner photographs Syrian refugees in Jordan – BBC News

Lucian Perkins is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer who has reported from international conflicts across the world in a career spanning almost three decades.

He has just returned from Jordan, where he visited the vast Zaatari refugee camp on the border with Syria, the temporary home to more than 100,000 Syrians who fled the civil war in their homeland. Perkins was reporting for the Center for the Prevention of Genocide, part of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC.

He spoke to the BBC about the crisis in Syria, and says the refugees now fear they will spend the rest of their lives in the camp.
