Japan doesn’t outlaw child porn images in Manga comics – BBC News

Japan has decided that Manga will be exempt from a new law banning posession of child pornography. For years, Japan has stood alone as the only country in the developed world that doesn’t outlaw possession of images of child sex abuse. But even this new law doesn’t extend to animations or video games which means that material which would be outlawed in many other countries is still freely available in Japan. Rupert Wingfield-Hayes reports from Tokyo.
